I have always loved to read.

As a young child I could often be found curled up in the corner reading Enid Blyton immersed in the mysteries of the Magic Faraway Tree, which always seemed more exciting than the tree house in our backyard. As I grew up I progressed through all the murder mysteries, Stephen King thrillers and of course some text books. And then, of course, there was university piles and piles of textbooks to absorb on topics like psychology, law and criminology and a few accounting books (but numbers, to me, don't really count).

After finishing numerous courses and, of course, numerous books in the process my reading did not stop. I then moved on to the hobby type of books and absorbed myself in mosaic making, crafts and anything else that took my fancy. Like many other people the lure of the self improvement books called and I was a willing taker again reading anything that came my way. In some ways, I am a bit of a book tart hopping from one topic to another but never giving myself to the one type of book available completely.

Even now, I read anything and everything. I can't stop myself from looking at the terms and conditions on each website, checking out the privacy notice and making sure that I can use the contact us button if required. Of course, I even carefully read through the content on each website and sometimes, I'm tempted to email the webmaster and point out any spelling problems.

Of course, the internet was the most unbelievable invention from my point of view. Now, if I decide at 3.00 a.m. that I need to know how to crochet a rug I can do that. It constantly amazes me that no matter what topic I might type into the search engine that I can find an ebook to download and read straight away.

The instantaneous technology that has come with the internet has spoiled avid readers like me. I know now, subject to internet connection availability, that I always have quality material to read just a click away.
